AJ is a professional Drummer, Educator, Author, Clinician and Drum Camp Founder. Having spent his youth studying at a number of established institutes and honing his craft, he is gigging extensively as an adult and has built a reputation as a regularly called upon musician. As a session player he has shared the stage with a number of solo artists & bands, which includes headlining the Bristol 02 Academy with KALA CHNG. He has recorded and toured/performed with the likes of Louisa Maria (former vocalist/guitarist of Tequila Mockingbyrd) and Danny McMahon (award winning Country Artist), and Firewood Island.
As part of the Vic Firth Education Team he teaches over 70 students a week, which includes teaching at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). As a clinician he has performed & taught alongside Emmanuelle Caplette and Dave Major, as well as teaching at the TDOC21 drum camp alongside Sarah Thawer, JP Bouvet and Camille Bigeault. His educational product “The Drummer’s Odyssey” was released in 2017 and received a 4/5 star book review in the UK's leading drum magazine, ‘RHTHYM'. A year later, AJ released his second book, “The Field Manual for the Church Drummer” which has seen sales in the UK, Europe and America.
AJ spends his time recording and performing as a busy session musician, teaching privately and at a number of institutions (online and in-person), and organising "The Drummer's Odyssey Camp” as the founder and director. The #BrewtimePractice group/series is a community AJ built for drummers who love coffee, providing exercises and tips for drumming and brewing.
